Insurance companies have the same right as anyone else to set their own prices and conditions for coverage. Obama and other socialists believe that people have inherent rights to the products and services others provide. It’s not true, it’s not fair, and it’s not American.

The government has made it more difficult for consumers to gain access to competing insurance companies across state lines, and Republicans would much rather see that impediment lifted.

Also: privately-run hospitals, medical companies, and doctors in America run their companies based on what will keep them in business and save them face with customers. Politicians don’t care about that. They just want to be reelected, and the only way they can do that is by DEMANDING money from GROUP A and GIVING IT TO GROUP B.

How do you control spending when you’re talking about sick people? Government-run health-care, by it’s very nature, is an insatiable beast and any honest man would admit that more will ALWAYS be demanded by politicians.

its not that they WOUDLNT want cheaper health care, and you only have part of the plan up there moron, its the fact that according to american principles and constitutional principles, it is not right for the government to regulate businesses, or anything for that matter. the government should be small and limited and NOT in control of everything, this seems to be an extreme and foreign idea for many people nowadays which is very fucking sad.

The government cannot regulate premiums for health insurance companies in a free market and secondly that isn’t even part of the bill or what he wants to do. He wants to offer healthcare to everyone in the entire country, paid for by taxes. That means your taxes too, through payroll taxes which will go up immediately. Those people who take advantage of it won’t get it for free either. It will be paid for in monthly premiums just like if they had insurance except that now they will be told what doctor to go to and will have to ask for permission to get a life saving operation before they can do it. If you have ever been to motor vehicles and waited to get something done then I can’t imagine why you would want to have the government in charge of deciding whether you get surgery or not.

The health reform will force every single American to buy insurance whether you can afford it or not. If you’re employed, it will force every businessowner to purchase health insurance for his/her employees (of which you will be forced to pay a minimum of 50% of the premium and 100% for your dependents).

I do think it’s a great idea that someone looks into the cost of medicine, hospital charges and the premiums charged by Insurance companies but to make every single American buy health insurance….that’s a bit much.

Yes, people want a plan., but one that they get to see first… one that all parties can agree on, one that everyone has had a say on. Not just something trumped up by Obama and his henchmen for the sole purpose of him being able to say he did it.

At this rate, if it passes, and I think he has bribed enough Democrats to do it, then they will start taking money from us immediately for a plan that we will not be able to access for at least two years. By then they will be voted out, the money will be gone.. and the Dems will have screwed us over again.

Well, Monty ol’ boy, the zingers are in the ‘details’. Like mandating you WILL buy govt insurance or face up to $5000 fines / jail time. Patently unconstitutional, and will be fought in federal courts for years. The single payer back-door sneaker will put most private insurance companies out of business as the govt will deliberately undercut the prices until they are the ‘last man standing’, at which point they have total control over who gets insured and at what costs.
Next is the gutting of Medicare to the tune of $500 billion, which has millions of people entwined in it’s tentacles, dependent on its services, which are rampant with fraud and corruption (it’s a govt program, after all) and Medicaid, along the same lines. The doctors servicing these folks already barely make costs thru these ’services’, so these cuts can lead nowhere but to vast disruptions and massive rationing of the services.
