How are the health reforms proposed by Obama Nazi policies?

I follow the US health care debate with interest. Some refer to his plans as Nazi policies. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYlZiWK2Iy8 How are the reforms that Obama wants Nazi policies?

FACT - Insurance companies in the USA admit to pushing up prices, buying politicians and not paying out claims when they should [1]
FACT - PER PERSON the USA spends more on healthcare than any other nation on the planet [2]
FACT - Obama debated his plans before the election for healthcare [3]
FACT - the chance of a child under five of dying in the USA is greater than industrialised nations with universal health coverage [4]
FACT - Obama was elected by the American people to bring in change [5]
FACT - Obama wants to stop insurance companies from screwing America [6]
FACT - The reforms Obama wants work in the Netherlands and Switzerland [7]

Let me know if my facts are wrong, but please provide proof.

Ms Stevie II, the prequel… all that Nazi stands for is National Socialist. Although the term Nazi has a very negative connotation thanks to the Germans, and bigoted, fascist skinheads that continue to besmirch the name -as like the swastika, which is a multicultural symbol meaning many different things- the word Nazi is a good intentioned name. With the ignorance of society, I would advise to be careful with it’s use though.
On to the question at hand. You are absolutely right.
Obama was up front and honest with his intentions. The same is said about all your other facts. Very well done on researching and proving your points.
Republicans just care about themselves, and don’t want to help their fellow man out. Republicans don’t like that there is all this spending and fail to realize that Obama is setting up the infrastructure that is needed for a better society. Even some of the Democrats don’t see what is going on.
I only hope that it is for real, and Obama doesn’t cop out. This would pave the way for Canada, which has a very entwined relationship with the U.S. . I myself have experienced first hand how conniving insurance companies are, and would love to see a system put in place to protect every man, woman and child so they have as healthy of a life as possible.

there not, these are republicans who don’t want to pay to help other people - in this country and many others, we get taxed and the money is pooled to pay for public services, NHS etc, the slfish people in the states wants the money to go back into their own pockets, thats all.

They are not "Nazi" policies. That doesn’t even make sense. I wouldn’t even give such ignorant and delusional people the time of day. The NSD was German. Germany has had socialized universal health since the 19th Century, way before the NSD.

you can’t stop insurance companies from screwing americans if politicians (democrats) take campaign contributions from them……I think you left out that in your list of "facts"

You just won’t give up will you Patroit? You won’t shove it down our throats! It’s a loosing battle on the Liberals side and you can’t see the it! But, I’m sure you will keep trying to promote your Liberal agenda!

Fact. You have no idea what the cost is.

Fact Obama never ran on this program that is going through Congress.
Fact if Obama iwants to stop Insurance companies from screwing with Americans, then why is he supporting this bill which is a huge payoff to insurance companies.
Fact The US has the largest voluntary pre-birth death rate of any country and Obama wants us to pay for them.

They aren’t. The Republican congressmen want health care reform squashed so they say anything to breed fear and hate in their constituents.

I am not a Democrat and I wouldn’t consider myself liberal but I think America needs a single-payer system. We already pay too much for the uninsured to go to the ER, so why not just insure them anyway? Either way the bill is coming out of the taxpayers’ wallets.

EDIT- I will say that we should not be forced to purchase insurance. No one should be forced to do something by their government, but single-payer would rid us of all the issues we are going through right now with health care.

Your a global warmer,, how can I tell, you left out information that would negatively affect your argument. Where in the constitution does it give the government the authority to force (mandate) you to buy ANYTHING. It’s unconstitutional and that makes it a Nazi policy. The Constitution is designed to control our government, when the government controls the constitution then we have to rely on them to not be corrupt, I don’t trust ANY politician enough to allow them full access to my life. You want to eliminate all stops and the "negative liberties"—-Obama, of the constitution then fine but don’t expect support for it from REAL americans that know and understand history and why these restrictions for our government were put in place.

I agree but obama needs to get his message out to the people he is losing the debate. Bring the big insurance companies and the Representatives which are taking the handouts or the promises. Bring them out in the open He also promised to get rid of the lobbyists and the best way to do that is get rid of the crooks they pray on.

They are not Nazi policies, but they are fascist. To address your points:

1. In the case of Sarkisyan, it states in the article that the experimental treatment was not covered by her policy, therefore this is not a case of an insurance company not paying out a claim when it was contractually obligated.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/jul/26/us-healthcare-obama-barack-change

2. The U.S. spends more because we lead the world in medical breakthroughs in technology and drugs.
Quote from the CBO: Growth in health care spending has outstripped economic growth regardless of the source of its funding…. The major factor associated with that growth has been the development and increasing use of new medical technology…. In the health care field, unlike in many sectors of the economy, technological advances have generally raised costs rather than lowered them. http://www.nybooks.com/articles/18802

3. Obama debating the policy has no bearing on whether ObamaCare is fascist. Obama is not Hitler, but Hitler also took part in debates on his policies before being elected.
"Hitler built up the party, converting it from a de facto discussion group to an actual political party." http://www2.dsu.nodak.edu/users/dmeier/Holocaust/hitler.html

4. The reason the chances for a child dying in infancy are higher in the U.S. is because we are able to deliver far more at-risk babies than any other country in the world.
http://www.roanoke.com/editorials/commentary/wb/214572

5. Obama is not Hitler but Hitler was elected by the German government to bring change.
"When the vote was taken, the result was 441 for and 84 against, giving Hitler the two-thirds majority he needed to suspend the German constitution." http://www.fff.org/freedom/fd0403a.asp

6. Obama has brought the insurance companies over to his side as allies in the fight for ObamaCare. Why do you think you aren’t seeing the onslaught of commercials against socialized medicine as we did when HilaryCare was being discussed?
http://reason.com/archives/2009/08/13/big-business-goes-big-for-heal

7. The reforms work in what sense?
In the sense that care is rationed?
In the sense that Swiss has no comparable Medicare or Medicaid programs, and no comparable poor population that will suffer?
In the sense that everyone is forced to pay into the system, whether they want it or not, to the tune of over $1,300 per person, including children (vs. $890 in the U.S.)?
In the sense that those who can afford better care or policies are not allowed to pay for it themselves?
In the sense that it would give Washington unprecedented power over the states in violation of the Constitution?
In the sense that doctors and other health professionals will have their wages dictated by Washington, leading to less people willing to enter those fields and resultant shortages of doctors, nurses and medical scientists?
http://www.americanthinker.com/2009/10/the_swiss_health_care_model_wo.html, http://www.becker-posner-blog.com/2009/10/should_the_swis.html

8. And again, while Obama is not Hitler, Hitler advocated and put in place socialized medicine and health plans for Germany as a basic plank of the Nazi Party.

And if anyone doesn’t believe me about the word Nazi… take a stroll over to Wikipedia and look it up. I don’t have to, but I would imagine it is there.

It’s part of the ultra-right’s hog wash and lie campaign. Germany’s NPH program was enacted during the Bismarck period, starting in 1871, and finalized in 1883. Hitler was born in April of 1889. Indeed, Hitler remains the ONLY German prime minister, chancellor, president, or leader to even discuss repealing that program, and that idea was discarded when Hess advised it was extremely unwise!

So they are not only NOT Nazi policies, they come from a whole different kind of origin. Also, of course, as Shirer, Bullock, Toland and ALL the scholars make eminently transparent, Hitler was a right-winger, and advocated a rather small civilian government, albeit with an immense military and police component. He never nationalized or expropriated any Aryan-owned business, let alone an entire industry. And when one of the broadcast pundits of the lunatic right states otherwise, he is LYING, plain and simple, and all the literature agrees.

On the other hand, as opposed to a single payer system–which, in various forms, is pretty much what the entire industrialized world has, save for the United States–this hatchplot/patchwork system of reforms is probably not going to be quite adequate.

Simple principle: civilized countries don’t allow citizens to die for want of simple procedures, and the provisions that institutions MUST treat ANYONE via emergency rooms has been a terrible disaster.

Stripped of all the scare tactics and cheap propaganda techniques, problems, populations, medical bills, and potential epidemics are all bigger and more dangerous than EVER. Medical costs are a large factor in an overwhelming number of American bankruptcies. If there’s any "good side" to that, it is apparent ONLY to those making huge profits off the present system.

Joe… buddy! You nailed it in explaining to that one chick! But just to clarify what you were saying… here it is again.
Nazi = National Socialist
National Socialist = a person that looks out for the nations social well being. Meaning… the person is concerned about all aspects of life within a country. The health of the people. The education of the people. The prosperity of the people. The condition to the environment… etc.
It is a fact that the better educated a group of people are, better the standard of living for those people is going to be. If every person has the same equal treatment for their health, then there are less people falling in the cracks of society. When there aren’t people forgotten and trampled over, they are less likely to resort to crime.
The general philosophy of a person like this is. Succeed as a group, prosper as a group. They… us (you and I Joe) know that we are all in this together as a human race. One race working together would be much better then small fractions fighting against each other. And I know it is a tall order to ask for with human nature being as it is, but we are slowly learning. A couple hundred years ago… even seventy years ago, people thought Africans were less then human. How sad is that?
There was a time when mentally ill children were locked away because people just didn’t understand what was wrong with them. These children were (in a lot of cases) mistreated. They were abused emotionally, mentally, physically and sexually. They would go through electro-shock therapy and/or have chunks of their brain taken out. How barbaric is this?
These days we don’t hear much of stuff like that. But insurance companies (yes insurance companies main priority is to make money, and not give it out) think it is alright to pratice the way they do. You buy into the idea that when the chips are down, they will cover you. You are in some cases without a job, no source of income, and they find every reason to not help you get better. Under universal health care this wouldn’t be a concern. Fore every person would get the needed medical attention. Yes it is a sad, greedy way that the U.S. has their health care set up, and it splashes over into Canada. And you complain about your freedoms? Well the next time you see a homeless person, ask yourself where their freedoms are. Should it be right they don’t get the care they need? After all they are just as "American" as you. They are human… don’t they deserve to have the same medical treatment as anyone else?
Give your heads a shake and look at what you are wanting. Greedy, selfish thoughts come from those that complain about the health care reforms.
