Would Government-Run Healthcare be like the worst private insurance company on steroids?Won’t we lose autonomy?
The worst think Obama could say about private insurance were some souped-up lies:

On the other hand look at the types of things that happen to everyone once the middle class is forced onto a government-run system:

When Pres. Obama says you can keep your health plan, he doesn’t finish the sentence. The rest of the sentence would read "if it is still available to you."
At my place of work and my husband’s, we have private health-care plans. When workers become Medicare eligible, they are told they have to sign up for it. The plant’s health insurance plan then becomes secondary and will not pay any portion of any procedure that Medicare rejects. If you have ever seen a Medicare EOB (explanation of benefits) you would see the very small percentage that Medicare pays. Some doctors will not accept Medicare patients or if they do, the patient pays the full amount up front and waits to receive partial reimbursement from Medicare.
Don’t you think that if a government-run program became available for all, that companies would tell all the workers they would no longer pay for private insurance and that you would have to sign up for the government plan? Do you really think our government is capable of running an efficient health care system for millions of citizens?
We are told that billions of Medicare and Medicaid dollars are lost through fraud now. The government has not been able to eliminate the fraud that exists and wants to institute a much bigger program. Think.

That is the concern. You are correct.
No one can demonstrate that this is not a legitimate concern.

Obama and the Democrats are proposing a government OPTION. NOT "government run health care". So your question is not only based on ignorance, but completely moot.

I know exactly what government run healthcare would be like. I was in the Army so I know what it would be like. Army is government and when soldiers got sick, they kept a medical profile of your history of all the times you been seen, and what was wrong with you each time. In the morning we waited a long time to get seen by the doctors in the Army, and the clinics were packed, and I mean packed. Get a glimpse of our future, it’s like being in the Army without being in the Army. Going through the same stuff I had to go through when I was in.

All the things you are complaining about also can happen with private care. You have decided to data mine a few horror stories. I assure you there are plenty of them with private care too.
How many Canadians and Europeans are pushing for privatizing the health care in their countries? I count ZERO.
The last article is truly misplaced in this "question". Nobody is proposing outlawing private insurance in the United States, and Ontario has wisely declared it a violation of Canada’s constitution.

You can keep your health plan! But how on earth could a decent human being not want others who share this Country with him/her to receive health care?
I just don’t get the mentality of people who think that they deserve to be treated (medically), and others do not!
How would it hurt you? What if you lost your health care coverage? It could happen, you might not foresee it, but it could happen!

There are some things that the Democrats won’t tell you. One is that there is no such thing as universal health care. Those that claim to have universal health care deny care to the very old and the very sick, the very things the Democrats are blaming the private insurance companies of not helping. Even Medicare and Medicaid do not help these people. You can even go bankrupt trying to pay for things that the government plans won’t cover. Obama even said that if he was in charge he would have just gave his 98 year old grandmother pain pills when she broke her hip rather than have the hip fixed. Democrat and former governor of Colorado Richard Lamm took it a step further and declared that the elderly and very sick have a "duty to die." A Norwegian periodical even picked up on an essay entitled "Duty to Die" written by a British philosopher named Baroness Mary Helen Warnock.
Not only would you still lose medical care under a universal plan, even the health would now go broke paying for the poor like they are around the world.

You obviously never have had to decide to make the horrible decision whether to take your sick child to the doctor or feed your family for the next week. Sure you can take that child to the ER if you don’t have insurance or money, but most medical problems require follow up care. Which means going to a doctors office. Have you ever heard of a word called empathy. People are suffering and in some cases dying for lack of health insurance. They would be happy to have any kind of insurance. Don’t you get it? Or is it you just don’t want to get it?
