Can some one prove these facts on healthcare wrong?

FACT - Insurance companies in the USA admit to pushing up prices, buying politicians and not paying out claims when they should http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/jul/26/us-healthcare-obama-barack-change
FACT - PER PERSON the USA spends more on healthcare than any other nation on the planet http://www.economist.com/displaystory.cfm?story_id=13899647
FACT - the chance of a child under five of dying in the USA is greater than industrialised nations with universal health coverage http://www.unicef.org.uk/campaigns/publications/pdf/sowc08.pdf
FACT - The reforms Obama wants work in the Netherlands and Switzerland http://www.commonwealthfund.org/Content/Publications/In-the-Literature/2008/May/Universal-Mandatory-Health-Insurance-in-The-Netherlands–A-Model-for-the-United-States.aspx
For Bibigirl, proof that Obama wants to cover Illegal immigrants would be appreciated. And what about the other facts?

Don’t you understand that Americans are willing to die to uphold the ideal that capitalists motivated by the desire to maximize profit do a better job than public servants motivated by the desire to promote health and prevent disease? Stupid commie.

Switzerland doesn’t give health coverage to people who are not their citizens.

So, lets reign in the Insurance companies and leave the Doctors, nurses and hospitals to do their job. Insurance reorganizing should be the topic, not Health Care!

No, but it doesn’t mean government run health care is the answer. That’s where we disagree I assume.

They push the prices up because they can. If we had health insurance that could be shopped for between multiple options, prices would go down. I also don’t believe it should come from our work, but purchased and hung onto, therefore carried over whether you’re working or not.

United States is also one of if not the most unhealthy country in the world. We also have the most advanced technology. That’s why we spend more.

We also have the expectation that insurance picks up the tab on every visit. Insurance should be for hospitalization and other extremes.

Can you point to any specifics in the ‘bills’ that address any of your so-called FACTS?

Nothing you’ve mentioned has anything to do with what the final bill will look like.

Your first "fact" is based on 1 person at 1 company. He does not speak for the entire company or the entire industry. So this is not a fact, but 1 man’s (out of millions) opinion.

Your second "fact" has nothing to do with anything. We also spend more on food, clothing, televisions, and everything else. It proves nothing other than the fact that we are the richest nation in the world and we spend lots of money.

Your third "fact" is again irrelevant. These deaths are not caused by lack of health care, but by other factors like crime, car accidents, swimming pool accidents, etc. We have the freedom to engage in dangerous activities, and sometimes the consequences are deadly. But that has nothing to do with the quality of our health care system.

Your fourth "fact" is based on the opinion that our system is not "working" now. It is. Nobody is denied care here or in the Netherlands, or in Switzerland. However, they pay twice the taxes we pay, for the exact same results. I’d prefer to keep a private system and pay 1/2 the taxes, but that is my opinion just like your "fact" is your opinion.

Those arent facts, theyre propaganda.

Fact>The UK and Canadian healthcare systems are going broke and ration people out of coverage.

Our govt cant even run social security, medicare, medicaid, or even the post office. Why would we have confidence that they can run our healthcare? No thanks!

yeah since he has been leading the insurance companies on with his false claims that people will have a choice so yeah they pay him to stay in business only to find later he is lying of course.as for my insurance company it is not that bad, I have never had a disagreement with them about a clam. they paid as was written
The chances of babies dying is not as great as you claim. Children are never refused care. And what do we care about switzerland and the netherlands. they problem don;t have a lying leader like we do that doesn;t hide things from the public. here no one knows what hes doing cause he is constantly changing this and that. even the people in his administration doesn;t know what he;s doing.
and there is no debate whether the illegals will be covered he already said they would and if he keeps his word to anyone it will be to the illegals , his voters for next election.
I keep hearing about the mortality oif babies that is way off base. someone needs to stop posting that crap.
So your pitch for the health care scam is wasted on me.

1) is not a fact is a statement by a disgruntled worker. Also we can find plenty of similar examples by medicare and point to the fact that 18% of medicare costs are fraudulent.

2) Ignores the fact that we have the best paid and therefore attract the most skilled doctors in the world. Good medical costs a lot of money unfortunately poor ppl suffer in this situation

3) See #1

4) The healthcare bill as proposed is 1) not the same as the netherlanlds 2) The US is not the netherlands therfore saying one solution would work in system A because it works in system B when systems A and B are <> is not very good reasoning.

BTW the tax rate in the Netherlands is up to 52% + up to 19% VAT so if the government took 3/4ths of your money I’m pretty sure we could provide really good healthcare however I think a few ppl might have a problem with that.

If fraud is rampant, doctors dont want to treat medicare holders because of underreimbursement, and the entire thing is WAY over budget and underfunded why would you look for government solutions? That seems pretty dumb.
