Schengen visa for spain from UK?

I came to the UK on October 2008 for studying. I’m planning to visit spain but I read on their website that I need to have a health insurance to be able to get a schengen visa which can not be issued if I haven’t lived for at least six months in the UK….
My company covers my medical expenses internationally.. do you think it would be enough if I could get a letter from my company to prove that I already have a health insurance?
Thank you

If your insurance company covers medical treatment, hospitalization, repatriation in case of severe illness, is valid for all of the 25 European Schengen countries, and covers at least €30,000 you will be good to go with a statement of your insurance company.

Since you have already travelled to a European country on a visa you should not face any problems obtaining a Schengen visa with your current insurance coverage.

The United Kingdom requires the same insurance coverage as the Schengen countries require from their alien visitors.

It would probably be better to get a letter from your insurance company but I suspect the letter from the company and a copy of your insurance card or documents will be enough, WHy not call the Spanish consulate and ask? Otherwise you can buy insurance for a tourist trip.

if you have a letter stating that? you could be alright?
most of them do NOT cover you internationally, if you can produce that? it might sufficient,
but? since you have not lived in the UK more than 6months ?
you need to wait..schengen visa have finally become a bit harder to receive, not because of insurance, but the fact that you have just arrived in a country, and you might not have really planned on just studying there?
many people do this, in order to enter other countries definitively.

You got a student visa for UK which like a residence visa. After a stay of 6 month in UK, you are eligible to apply for a Schengen Visa, that will allow you to visit 25 European Union state tied in Schengen Agreement. Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark. Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands,Norway, Poland, Portugal
Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden.
If you have International Coverage for the Medical that will work. Produce a copy of Medical along with your visa application. If you don’t have a copy on hand ask your company to send you one. Moreover, you can also take advice from Embassy or visa office about the documentation requirement. Normally prooof of Hotel Accomodation + Medical and a photograph using white background, passport, visa application and appropriate visa is the only requirement to my experience.
